History
In September 1987
a group of concerned individuals in the Assem
blies
of God perceived a need to
provide high-quality Christian
education to families in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A
Steering Committee formed in June 1988 to discuss the establishment of a
school.
By December, a Board of Directors voted to incorporate Scranton Area Christian Academy, and it was decided that the school would meet at the Peckville Assembly of God. Five local Assemblies responded with cash donations and pledges of support, and on September 5, 1989, the doors of the school opened for the first time.
Since then, the school has relocated to its present location at the Clarks Green Assembly of God where approximately 50 students are enrolled in grades preK through 8.
