Contribute to Abington Christian Academy
Abington Christian Academy seeks to serve families without regard to income or financial status. To do this, we rely on the financial partnership of businesses and individuals.

1) Direct Contributions
One way to partner with Abington Christian Academy is to contribute directly to the school. You may send donations to the following address:
    Abington Christian Academy
    204 South Abington Road
    Clarks Green, PA  18411
If you would like to speak with someone about making a substantial gift, please call the school office at 570.586.5270.

2) Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program Contributions
Business donations to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program have created thousands of scholarship dollars for Abington Christian Academy students.

Enacted in 2001, the Pennsylvania EITC program amended the public school code. Act 4 authorized the award of tax credits to businesses that make contributions of up to $200,000 to scholarship organizations. These scholarship organizations then designate funds as tuition assistance to qualified recipient schools like Abington Christian Academy.

Eligible PA Businesses
Any business that pays any of the following taxes may participate in the EITC program:
    -Corporate Net Income Tax
    -Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
-Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
    -Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
    -Insurance Premiums Tax
    -Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
-Personal Income Tax from the business income of a pass-through entity

Tax Credits

Businesses may receive EITC tax credits according to the following schedule:

              One-year Commitment  Written two-year Commitment
K-12              70% Tax Credit           *90% Tax Credit
PreK             100% Tax Credit on first $10,000
90% Tax Credit on additional contributions
 Not available
*Existing charitable deductions still apply with this credit, increasing the value of the tax credit.

Application Process
Businesses send the Department of Community and Educational Development (DCED) a one-page application for the tax credit. A review is completed to make sure the company does not owe back taxes. If the scholarship or educational improvement organization is listed with the Department and there is money available in the program, tax credits will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Benefits for Businesses
Control - Local businesses, not the government, designate how and where their company’s tax dollars are spent.
Local Benefits - The tax dollars of area businesses stay right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where they will help the families and schools they know and serve.
Effectiveness - Corporate tax dollars meet the educational needs of local students. They’re not wasted on pork barrel projects or ineffective government programs.
Efficiency - Contributed tax dollars make an immediate difference in the education of local students. Within months of a donation, scholarships are awarded to area low- to middle-income families, efficiently helping to improve the quality of education here at home.
Ease - Businesses need only complete a one-page application to have their tax dollars begin to improve the quality of education in the Scranton area.

Designate Funds to ACA
We invite local businesses to consider sending their business tax dollars to the ACSI Children’s Tuition Fund of PA designated for Abington Christian Academy. Please feel free to contact our EITC Coordinator, Jennifer Brock, at 570.586.4183 (home phone) with any questions you might have about this program.
